The anime adaptation of Kamisama no Memochou is a production of J.C. Staff, directed by Katsushi Sakurabi and written by Seishi Minakami. Its story is based on the Kamisama no Memochou light novel series written by Hikaru Sugii and illustrated by Mel Kishida. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for the North American audience and was simulcast on the Anime Network from July to September 2011.
