Kami-sama no Memo-chō (神様のメモ帳 Kami-sama no Memo-chō) is originally a light novel series written by Hikaru Sugii, with illustrations by Mel Kishida.
Narumi Fujishima is an ordinary high school boy who is isolated from the classmates. One afternoon fellow classmate Ayaka Shinozaki invites Narumi to join the gardening club and introduces him to a reclusive detective who calles herself Alice; whose real name is Yuuko Shionji, because of a mixed reading of the kanji for Yuuko. Alice hires Narumi as an assistant and Narumi becomes part of a group of people called NEET; who are a group of detectives who work with her in order to solve cases brought to them or that directly affect one of the members of the group.
